Tell Us About Your Job: I love being a designer at Toad. I have my hands in SO many projects and I get to be part of aspects of the business that at a larger company I wouldn’t have access to. I’m lucky to be involved in the entire journey of bringing a garment to life: sourcing materials, selecting colors, creating pattern artwork, sketching designs, creating tech packs, organizing fittings, presenting to buyers, and working on photoshoots. Every stage feels special, and I couldn’t be more grateful to play a part in each one.
Tell Us About Your Co-Workers: I love the people I work with! They genuinely care and pick each other up during tough times and celebrate wins in more happy times. I appreciate the authenticity of our relationships within the company and all the people we work with outside the building.
Biggest Toad Surprise: I came to Toad from a more traditional fashion background and was surprised and delighted by how much people care about more than JUST the clothes. At Toad, it’s like the clothes are simply a medium for us to communicate our beliefs with the world and a platform for us to make an impact.
Best Time of Day: I’m a morning person! I love getting outside before work and cherish that time before everyone else is out and about.
Backpack Snack: Trail mix with M&Ms
Travel Dreams: Tanzania or Botswana (for the animals), New Zealand (for the sealife), and the Dolomites (for climbing & trail running)
Just Finished: All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy
24 Hours Outside, Go: I’d get lost, climb, trail run, jump in the ocean, watch the ocean, and look for seashells.
Simple Joys: Clean sheets and puttering around the house
Claim to Fame: I have a theory that you can eat any item of food with peanut butter or salsa.
Personal Style: I love classic design with a twist: timeless yet playful, precious but easy, structured yet cozy. My style’s always evolving and reflects what I’m obsessing over that month— a new hobby, place I’ve visited, or vintage find I’ve stumbled upon.
Where Toad Has Taken You: Most recently to Santa Cruz Island for kayaking, snorkeling, hiking at sunset, and pulling up invasive plants. It was so fun to visit this island for the first time and share two special days with the Toad crew— they make everything more fun.
One of my favorite skirts in the collection! I’m especially excited about this season’s gingham pattern. This timeless staple has an elasticated back waistband which ensures a perfect, easy-to-wear fit.
The Rose holds a special place in the fall collection. She is classic, universally flattering, and made from our beloved, extra comfortable, organic cotton and Tencel knit fabric.
This is one of those pieces you will cherish in your closet for a long time. She’s special without being precious and is adorned with beautiful details like the pintucks and cotton lace trim.
