How We Choose Our Partners
Our Workplace Standards
We only partner with factories that meet our strict ethical, social, and environmental standards, all outlined in our detailed Code of Conduct. Every factory is vetted through rigorous third-party audits, and must follow fair labor practices, maintain safe working conditions, and use responsible environmental processes. We stay closely connected with our partners and invest in long-term relationships to ensure our standards are not only met, but lived, every single day.
More on our Sustainability Standards
Our clothes are made in a handful of sustainable factories overseas, many of which we’ve partnered with for 10+ years. We choose them for their ethical manufacturing practices, top-notch craftsmanship, and shared commitment to responsible production. Long story short: good people making great clothes.
We only work with factories that meet our strict ethical, social, and environmental expectations, which we outline in our detailed Code of Conduct. Every partner must pass rigorous third-party audits, follow fair labor practices, maintain safe working conditions, and use responsible environmental processes. We stay closely connected with our partners and build long-term relationships so we can ensure our standards aren’t just met – but that they’re lived every day.
We believe transparency is key, from the farms where fibers are grown to the factories where clothes are made. We also conduct regular audits and factory visits, maintain open communication, and focus on building long-term relationships to ensure every step of production meets our ethical, social, and environmental standards, as outlined in our Code of Conduct.
Great question! Many of the fabrics and techniques we use require specialized skills and longstanding craftsmanship that simply aren’t widely available in the U.S. anymore. Our global factory partners have spent decades perfecting these methods, especially when it comes to using low-impact materials and sustainable production. We choose the partners who can make each piece responsibly and with the quality we expect. Often, those experts are overseas.
By choosing factories that prioritize recycled and low-impact materials, energy-efficient production, water-saving processes, and near sourcing – working with partners who grow their crops as close to the production centers as possible to cut down on shipping and emissions. Long-term partnerships also mean less waste, better planning, and clothes made with a whole lot of intention – always in line with the principles in our Code of Conduct.
Carefully – and with a pretty high bar. Every partner must meet our strict sustainability criteria, share our values around ethical sourcing, and bring real expertise in eco-friendly textiles and high-quality craftsmanship. If we wouldn’t wear the clothes ourselves, they don’t make the cut.
