Staff Accountant

Location: Santa Barbara, California

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reports. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contributes to the overall success of the organization. The role will be responsible for AP (30% of time), AR (40% of time), and general ledger accounting (30%).

The role has a base salary of $65,000 - $85,000 with a generous benefits package to supplement base salary.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Assist with AP vendor creation, invoice entry, and payments.
  • Assist with AR account set up, credit limit management, credit hold release, collections, payment reconciliation, cash applications, and customer relationship management.
  • Reconcile bank statements, cash-in-transit, and credit card statements and prepare related journal entries on a frequent basis.
  • Assist with other month-end close journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation and payment of sales and use tax filings and reconciling related accounts.
  • Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with company credit card administration, expense coding, and auditing.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and provide support, as necessary.
  • Contribute to process improvements and initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices and recommend adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist with HR and benefits administration as a back-up.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. NetSuite experience helpful but not required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service mentality (internal and external).
  • Experience in consumer goods, apparel, retail, or wholesale industry helpful but not required.

Retail Sales Floor Supervisor

Location: Maine

The Retail Sales Floor Supervisor is responsible for opening and closing the store, leading the team when other store leadership isn’t present, and ensuring our customers receive exceptional customer service. This role is based in Maine; positions are available at both the Portland and Freeport locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Motivate sales staff when other store leadership is absent
  • Accountable to meeting/exceeding daily sales goals
  • Maintain positive and open communication with others on the Store Leadership Team
  • Be a role model for friendly and brand-oriented sales
  • Prioritize and delegate daily tasks, including opening and end of day responsibilities
  • Assist in communicating company and store policies and guidelines
  • Store opening/closing
  • Securing the store
  • Following loss prevention guidelines and train staff

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail sales and customer service
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Proficient in inventory management and control
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
